  • Speak of the devil! (= We’ve just been talking about you, and here you are!
  • शैतान का नाम लिया,शैतान हाजिर

Take care (= Look after yourself)

Apna dyan rakhna.

Give someone’s word ( promise karna)

  • I give you my word.
  • Mai jubaan deta hu.

Take someone’s word.

  • Ok, I take your word.
  • Theek hai , jubaan rhi.(Mai apka bishwas karta hu)

Well I’ll be off then.. (= I’m going now)

  • Achha , mai jar ha hu. (kaam khatam hone ke baad)

  • Baad me milte hai.
  • Nick: OK, I’m off now.
  • Ted: OK! Catch you later!
  • (I’m / He’s, etc) off out for the evening. (= I’m / He’s etc going out for the evening)
  • Mai sham ko bahar jar ha hai.

Giving / receiving something

  • Here you go / There you go (= Here it is!)
  • Ye rha / Wo rha .
  • I’m good thanks. (= No thank you)
  • ( when you want to say ‘No’ politely)
  • Be my guest! (= Of course – you can do something!)
  • ( used as a polite reply to a request)
  • ‘Do you mind if I sit down?’ ‘Be my guest.’
  • Help yourself! (= Take one)
  • (It is used to give permission to someone to do or use something)
  • ‘Do you mind if I use the phone?’
  • ‘Help yourself.’
  • Make yourself at home! (= Sit down and feel comfortable)
  • To feel relax and behave in the same way as you do in your own home
